Serving The Community
- I am grateful for the heart for service that I believe God has given me. In addition to my 20 years in the Navy, I have also dedicated over 5 years to serving the community as a Planning Commissioner.
- Public Safety: Leveraging my military police and firefighting experience, I’m dedicated to ensuring our police and fire departments are well-trained and equipped, upholding public safety with integrity, deserving our respect and admiration.
- Ward 2’s Rural-Urban Balance: I support farming on farmland and will protect neighbors’ privacy if land is sold for development. Recognizing diverse living preferences is key to achieving the American Dream in Ramsey.
- Transparency: I believe in open communication. Ask me anything, and I’ll provide an answer or direct you to someone who can. Understanding the rationale behind answers, even unpopular ones, is crucial.
- The COR: Although outside our Ward, I’m committed to fostering responsible growth and attracting businesses that benefit and sustain our local economy.
- Respect: My military career has instilled in me the importance of mutual respect in every interaction, as disrespect only breeds division.
About Eric
- Originally from Appleton, WI, my mother worked for Thrivent (formerly AAL), and my father served as a Marine in Vietnam and retired as a Teamster. In 1996, I joined the Navy, retiring in 2017 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. As a Culinary Specialist, my duties extended beyond the galley (kitchen); I was a Team Breacher for the ship's VBSS Team, boarding vessels off Somalia's coast, and a member of the shipboard firefighting training team. At NAS Willow Grove, PA, I served as a Patrolman, FTO, and Dispatcher for the Base Police. My military roles reinforced my commitment to serving our country.
- Post-retirement in 2017, my family moved from Hampton, Virginia, to Ramsey to be closer to my brother and his family, allowing our children to grow up with their cousins. I work in supply chain management within manufacturing, focusing on cost savings and negotiation.
- Married to Amy for 21 years, she's an active stay-at-home mom and church volunteer. Our son, Connor, attends Florida State University, actively involved in our church youth. Our daughter, Emmaline, attends PACT Charter School, enjoys horseback riding, and is a fan of Taylor Swift. Our family, including our three dogs, Sprocket, Ollie, and Millie. We love traveling and lawn care.
